Alternative Data Screener on Quantpedia

Global interest in alternative datasets (data which are not directly related to information in financial statements or stock prices – examples are the satellite, geolocation, weather data, credit cards data, web-traffic etc.) is growing strongly. More and more investment managers are looking for a way to obtain outperformance using various non-traditional sources of information.

We at Quantpedia are looking on this emerging trend with curiosity too (as our interest lies in the ESG/SRI investing, see for example our latest analysis of ESG factor strategies).

However, we are not experts in the entire field of alternative data. There are hundreds of various sources and databases with different coverage, granularity and pricing. One would be thankful for a tool that would allow screening the whole universe of non-traditional data sources to select just the right dataset.

Luckily, now exists one such Alternative Data Screener also on Quantpedia 🙂

We are happy to announce Quantpedia’s cooperation with DDQIR, an alternative data-driven quantitative research company, which maintains an extensive database of alternative data providers. Their PHUMA Platform contains information about the majority of available alternative datasets, and detailed characterization offers the possibility for the in-depth data-discovery process.

DDQIR will operate a simplified demo of their tool for us on a separate Quantpedia’s sub-page.

You are sincerely invited to explore this new screening tool …

Best regards,

Radovan Vojtko
Quantpedia’s CEO & Head of Research
